Mizta Sandman is an emerging rapper who first got into the music industry from his mother. As time has passed the rapper fell into his own and has created an artistic flow of his own. We sit down with the rapper to chat about how he got into music, his future plans and what influences his music.

How did you first get into the music industry?

My appreciation for the art of music began with my mom (R.I.P.) She used to play music daily for us while cleaning house on the weekends, moving around the city, or hopping a bus to go do laundry. She would teach us the love language of life is music. So from that moment any event or emotion that happened in my life music was tied to it. She would put some music on sit us down and say focus, pay attention to the words, you see how their telling the truth through pain. I never really understood what it actually meant. After a long while I finally started writing my truth through pain as she described it. And the Release felt good enough to start my journey. My journey began as a fan of the music and art-form. This is when I started to venture into concerts, studios, and began rubbing elbows with some of the right people.

Can you tell me about ‘She Know What She Getting’?

"She know what she getting" is a song about women who know what they are getting when dealing with a man that they have chosen. She does not worry about other peoples suggestions, ideas or input on her relationship because this is what she desires. She knows what she wants in a man; be it good or bad. There is no Guesswork on her part. Meaning; She knows what shes getting, she knows what she signed up for, and she's ok with it. The song represents the way I would treat a woman by making her Laugh, make her feel Heard, make her feel Desired, Appreciated, make her feel beautiful inside and out, make her feel Valued, and communicate daily.

No woman wants a yes man or someone that they can run over. Every woman desires a man who is Confidant, Loyal, Respectful, compassionate, resilient, Strong, and a Real one. An emotionally stable man who handles his business in and outside the bedroom.

Who influenced your music?

I would say social Influence as well as an array of artists. The reality of not having a stable living situation for long periods of time, being homeless as a youth, being forced onto the streets at an early age, fighting, shootouts, gang banging, multiple trips to jail, being stabbed, my mom going to prison, my dad in prison, watching friends die early, I can go on and on. But I said that to say this, All of this was our reality we had to face growing up. Musical influences: 2pac, Michael Jackson, Rakim, OutKast, Usher, Chris Brown, Prince, Drake, Aaliyah, Scarface, Big Daddy Kane, The Notorious B.I.G. , Jay Z, Nas, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Nipsey Hussle, Too Short, E-40, L.L. Cool J, M.C. Ren, The D.O.C. , Dogg Pound, etc

What have you got coming out for the future?
