STRONG A.R.M. is the name that describes the 6'2", 200 plus pound Brooklyn native who is making a name for himself as a heavy weight rapper. As an artist he believes anything goes when it comes to his music, highlighting the fact that hip hop chose him.

We sit down with the dynamic rapper as he talks about his journey, his influences and his upcoming projects.

How did you first start get into rapping?

Once I heard Rappers Delight at a young age, it was a ‘wrap’ as far as my involvement with the hip hop culture. My mum bought me that record, so I guess I have her to thank! Before hip hop, I felt like I had no kind of identity what so ever, and when it came to certain things, I would always get passed over.  Once I started rapping though, people started to recognise me a little bit more, haters included, as time went on, Hip Hop gave me my walk, my talk, my style, and basically my whole self-esteem came from being a part of the hip hop culture.

Who are you influenced by?

Run-DMC, LL Cool J., Kool G Rap, M.O.P., Xzibit, Busta Rhymes, and a whole bunch of artists from the 90’s!!!! Also, an artist in the 80’s like M.C. Mitch Skee, Schooly D., Ultramagnetic M.C.’s, Stetsasonic, Eric B. & Rakim, and Big Daddy Kane just to name a few!!!!!

Has the rap game changed for you?

In some ways YES, and in some ways NO. I mean the way I see it, I had my hip hop heroes growing up, and now my kids have their Hip Hop heroes growing up!!!! Growing up people said that Hip Hop would not last. So as Hip Hop evolves into what it is nowadays, who am I to say that it sucks!!!!! I will just say that I stay in my lane when it comes to hip hop! And I do it for the people in my age group who still love this music.

How do you think rappers can stay relevant in this changing industry?

You have to make good music, and music that will stand the test of time! Quality music will never go away, and it will always win out no matter what year they say it is! Period.

What stimulates your soul?

Music! Music stimulates my soul Real good bars and hooks!!!! And hard ass beats!!!! As a D.J. myself, it is real important to me to not just hear the music but I also want to see the vision that the artist is displaying for me on the track.

Tell us about your future projects?
