AJ Tracey unveils video for new single 'Ladbroke Grove'
Straight off the back of a mammoth 27-date European tour British rap star AJ Tracey has unveiled a new visual for fan favourite ‘Ladbroke Grove’ an ode to the UK Garage sounds he grew up on produced by rising UKG hero Conducta and with a sample from none other than UK heavyweight, Jorja Smith.
Taken from his critically-acclaimed, self-titled debut, the visual shot in Morocco is a nod to his home area of London (Ladbroke Grove) and the vibrant Moroccan community there. The video sees AJ and his friends in Marrakech and the surrounding desert, quad-biking, riding camels, smoking shisha by the pool, and sampling the local delights in Jemaa el-Fnaa.
“Ladbroke Grove” has held firm in the UK Top 100 since the album was released on February 8, when it immediately shot to #3 in the UK charts and landed the title obtaining the title of top-selling independent album in the country. Since then the album has spent four weeks in the UK top 20 and currently has over 20 million global streams. AJ Tracey showcased the strength of AJ’s musical versatility, for the most part seeing him flying solo with the exception of carefully chosen features from the legendary Giggs, US rapper Jay Critch and UK chart-topper Not3s. Working with a range of producers including Nyge, Steel Banglez, Maaly Raw and more) AJ’s fierce word-play flits effortlessly across multiple genres from Grime, Garage and UK Rap, to his take on Country music.
At just 25-years-old, the London-born artist has continuously pushed the boundaries of UK rap throughout his self-built journey. Releasing his Secure The Bag! EP saw AJ catapulted into the UK official chart and securing a position at Number 13, while AJ’s 2018 summer single “Butterflies” ft.Not3s saw him spend an incredible eight weeks in the UK Official top 20, six weeks on the Radio 1 A-list with over 75 million streams to date, and is now set to go Platinum nearly 600,000 sales.
