Rapper Blaq Carrie emancipates herself with her new single ’Since 2010’. The single is the second release off her upcoming album ‘RUWA’.

‘Since 2010’ was written mid 2020 during the lockdowns. Mentally BC was in a really good head space considering the circumstances. Written in response to self-doubt, reflection and dealing with the struggles of finding passion in music despite the bumpy journey.

On the track, BC said, “Music has always been my safe haven where I am fully liberated as an artist. It had dawned to me that I’ve been recording for 10 years and for some unexplainable reason I am still pushing it,”

“The track is about me self reflecting on life, mental growth, accepting reality and being grateful that my passion for music is still alive within me regardless of all the highs and lows that I have encountered on this journey,”

Using her voice and platform to make a difference, BC just dropped the first single ‘Musashi Freestyle’ off her upcoming album ‘RUWA,’ which received love from global tastemakers. The single, in addition to ‘Since 2010’ gives listeners a teaser of what to expect from ‘RUWA’ which is slated for release in March 2021.

Having maintained a strong presence in the scene, BC was born and raised in Zimbabwe and is now based in Brisbane,Australia.  After releasing her debut single ‘Let There Be Hope’ in 2013 she experienced a break-out year, winning the Triple J Unearthed Spring Hip Hop Festival competition and winning the Queensland Music Award ‘Best Urban Song’ and the Australian Independent Award and Music Video Award as well. BC is ready to make 2021 her year.
