For the first show in this series of quarterly alternative Hip Hop nights you'll hear a diverse roster of artists ranging from blues & soul to classic hip hop. Young emcee out of the Blue Mountains, El’ Jistos will start the night off with some heartfelt rhymes followed up by soulful hip-hop & delta blues from singer/producer duo Yum Yum, who have just debuted their first clip from their debut EP Slade Meets Jayo.
Next up Syd-city’s resident mad-woman emcee making waves on Triple J, Sarah Connor will blow you away with a politically charged rap and spoken word set. Two Toes, an experimental Hip Hop supergroup of veterans out of the Blue Mountains whose show includes live bass and instrumentation will close out the acts with a tinge of nostalgia as this is only their second live performance since 2008.
Spaceport Two strives to create a culture of family & sharing among artists and patrons, in the spirit of Hip Hop Odysseys at the original warehouse venue Spaceport One. The night will finish off with an open mic cypher freestyle session with beatbox and live accompaniment. Anyone in attendance is encouraged to share their poetry, raps, and songs.
