Getting To Know Luchi

Luchi breaks the mould in every category. Growing up in Glasgow, there is not much that will phase him on his adventures through the music industry.
We decided to chat with the artist to get to know him more and what drives him in music.

How did you get into music?

I always find this question hard because it just seemed like I knew my path in life from a very young age and it was really gradual. I used to sing all the time when I was younger at school shows and family parties and then it was around 13 when I started writing songs. It started as a way of getting my emotions out and I just listened to other songs and would see the structure they had, how the melody changed in every section and that was how I learned to craft my songs. I then started going into studios to learn about the production side of things from around 17 and it was amazing to hear my songs come to life. Music was my first love, my first friend, my safe place and I’ve always so deeply connected to it.

What do you want people to take away from your latest release?

I want people to know that they aren’t alone. Mountain is a special song to me and it is a realisation that you have a battle ahead of you to fight and that you have to have the energy and strength to face it. It takes so much courage to face up to your demons that sometimes you have to rest before you can start the journey. You can have a moment in the darkness but you don’t want to live there, take a moment, compose and rest then when you are ready, start on the journey to healing.

Your music is very personal to you, has there been a time where that scared you to share it to the world?

Do you know a lot of the time I don’t even think about it because it comes so natural for me to be honest and vulnerable. I’ve never been one to hold back because I know that we all go though different situations but at the same time all feel the same emotions. I’ve always been drawn to music that is real and honest so I think that’s what makes me fearless in sharing my story.

What's next for you?

There is so much in the pipeline but what I can say is there is a lot more music coming your way. Everything else will be revealed in time so stay tuned.

What stimulates your soul?

I’d say growth and connection are the things that stimulate my soul. I love to learn about myself and the human condition, I’m a very deep thinker and I’m a big believer in change so I’ve been on a self development journey for a long time. I enjoy hearing people’s stories and what makes them their unique self. I take inspiration from people’s stories and struggles as I think that in a world that tries to divide us, let’s focus on what connects us rather than divides us.
