Premiere: Otiuh Bounces Back With Visuals For 'Pink Gelato'
The cool kids of the block Otiuh return with swaggy visuals for their single ‘Pink Gelato’ that we are excited to premiere today.
Filled with colourful textures and floral visuals set to make any heart-break seem minimal, the video celebrates newfound desire, passion and confidence after a break up, it’s all about shaking off the cobwebs and stepping into the light, and that’s exactly what they did here.
According to director Ash Lazenby, the concept for the clip came together over a few beers with Papa and Baker in Northbridge, Perth. After one listen to ‘Pink Gelato’, Lazenby, who couldn’t deny the vibes Otiuh were laying down with ‘Pink Gelato’, scraped his ideas for a different song and the three got to work on this instead.
Of their new single, Otiuh said, "Life is very short. There is no time to lose yourself in a relationship that's over. You're the shit. If anything, this song is a reminder of this to ourselves.”
With the recent announcement that their debut EP, Cold Recreation, is set for release on April 26th, Otiuh are now also thrilled to reveal they’ll be heading out on their first national tour to celebrate. Hitting Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and their hometown of Perth, the Cold Recreation tour is set to kick off in May and will see the guys bring their fully-fledged live show across the country, promising to be absolutely killer shows.
All about finding light in the dark and learning how to emerge from rough times into something better than ever, Otiuh deliver conscious hip-hop with a message, and with their EP set to drop in just a few weeks, that message is set to ring out loud and clear across the country.
